Forest Carey Named 2026 Russell Wilder Award Recipient
May 15, 2026
Park City Ski & Snowboard is proud to share that Forest Carey has been named the 2026 Russell Wilder Award recipient at the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Congress Awards Dinner held this past Monday. The Russell Wilder Award is given each year to the person who has done the most to focus the interests of American youth on the sports of skiing and snowboarding.
That description fits what Forest has been doing at PCSS to a tee.
In the 2025-26 season, in his role as Alpine Technical Director and Alpine Youth Development Head Coach, Forest grew the Utah Olympic Park-based youth skiing/racing program to 125 athletes. The waitlist now sits at more than 100 kids. That kind of demand does not happen by accident. It happens because parents see their kids coming home tired, smiling, and asking when they can go back.
"By combining elite-level coaching with an emphasis on fun, development, and broad access to the sport, Carey is helping build the next generation of American ski racers ahead of the 2034 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City." - U.S. Ski & Snowboard
Forest brings serious credentials to the snow every day. As a former U.S. Ski Team member, NCAA All-American, and three-time USSA International Coach of the Year, he has spent decades inside the top levels of American ski racing. What makes the Russell Wilder Award such a perfect fit is that he points all of that experience straight at the six and seven-year-olds learning to link their first turns.
We are fortunate to have Forest on our staff. PCSS is built on coaches like him, and his recognition reflects the kind of bar our entire team sets every season. From the youngest GROM through our top juniors, every athlete deserves an awesome experience on snow. Coaches like Forest are how we make sure that happens.
Congratulations Forest. Thank you for what you bring to our kids and our staff every day.
