Scholarships for Athletes | Park City Ski & Snowboard

At PCSS, we believe financial barriers should never limit an athlete’s potential. We offer and promote a wide range of scholarship opportunities—many need-based, some merit- or character-based—to help athletes pursue their sport at every level. Scholarships are available through partners such as the Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation, Park City Ski Education Foundation, Youth Sports Alliance, Lindsey Vonn Foundation, i9 Sports Association, World Cup Dreams Foundation, and others. Awards can help cover program tuition, training camps, competition expenses, and travel, with application windows throughout the year.

Whether you’re just starting in youth development programs or competing at an elite level, we encourage all eligible athletes to explore these resources. UOLF - Level 1

The Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation (UOLF) will accept need-based scholarship applications for Youth Development and Learn to Train programs. This scholarship is intended to ensure all can participate regardless of ability to pay. Awards apply only to winter program fees, are not guaranteed, and are distributed first-come, first-served.

Application Period : October 1–31
Eligible Sports : Nordic, Freestyle, Freeski, and Snowboard
Financial Eligibility : Households reporting less than $12,750/month or $153,000/year
Awards: Cover : 25% of program fees

UOLF - Level 2

The Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation (UOLF) offers need-based scholarships for any PCSS program level—Youth Development, Learn to Train, or Learn to Compete. This standard scholarship helps ensure financial need is never a barrier to participation. Applications must include an athlete statement, prior year’s federal tax return, and a letter of recommendation from a non-coach. Recipients are asked to thank UOLF donors.

Eligible Sports : All (except Alpine)

Park City Ski Education Foundation

The Park City Ski Education Foundation (PCSEF) Board of Trustees is committed to helping PCSS Alpine athletes in the Learn to Compete phase—full-time Jr IMC, IMC, and FIS—pursue ski racing excellence. These scholarships offer vital support for talented athletes who might not otherwise have the resources to reach their goals, with funds applied directly to PCSS Alpine tuition, camps, competitions, or related projects. Applications are accepted year-round.

YSA Stein Erikson Dare to Dream

The Youth Sports Alliance (YSA) offers need-based Stein Eriksen “Dare to Dream” Scholarships to athletes in YSA member clubs who could not participate or compete without financial support. Funded by the Stein Eriksen YSA Opportunity Endowment and the annual JANS Winter Welcome, these scholarships help cover training and competition costs. Annual awards support athletes for the full training year, while spring awards assist with post-season competitions or qualifying camps. A coach or program manager recommendation is required.

Lindsey Vonn Foundation

The Lindsey Vonn Foundation empowers girls from underserved communities through need-based enrichment and sport scholarships. Twice a year, up to $5,000 is awarded to female athletes ages 10–18 who demonstrate grit and passion but lack the resources to pursue their goals. Scholarships include Enrichment awards for academic or personal growth opportunities and Sport awards for athletic development. Since its inception, the foundation has awarded more than $1 million to help young women access transformative experiences.

I9Sports Association

The i9 Sports Association provides grants of up to $150 to help boys and girls under 18 cover registration fees for youth recreational activities. The goal is to make sports more accessible to families in need, giving more kids the chance to play, learn, and grow. Applications are accepted year-round, with awards given in February, May, August, and November. The nonprofit’s mission is to promote youth sports participation, provide vital financial assistance to those who might otherwise be unable to join, and raise awareness about the many physical, social, and emotional benefits of athletic involvement.

World Cup Dreams

The World Cup Dreams Foundation (WCDF) provides financial assistance to help developing Alpine skiers advance in their sport. The On the Rise Grant ($1,500–$3,000) supports FIS athletes who are not on a national team, and the ARCO Grant ($1,000–$2,500+) supports promising U16 athletes. Both aim to remove financial barriers and have a July 31 application deadline. WCDF also offers a fundraising platform to connect athletes with donors, managing all processing so athletes can focus on training and competition.

Gordon Lange Scholarship

The Gordon Lange Scholarship is awarded to current Park City Ski & Snowboard cross-country competition athletes who demonstrate merit, strong character, sportsmanship, and financial need. Created in honor of longtime Park City coach Gordon Lange, the scholarship helps cover race, camp, and team travel expenses, reflecting his belief in using sports to build life skills, consideration for others, and a commitment to doing one’s best. It continues his legacy of supporting athletes in both their athletic pursuits and personal growth.
