Academics

At PCSS, we believe academic excellence is as important as athletic performance in preparing athletes for success beyond the sport.

Balancing School and Sport

PCSS athletes have several excellent options for balancing academics with their training and competition schedules. For those in the Learn to Compete phase of sport, the Winter Sports School offers a unique calendar, with classes running from April to November so the winter months are free for training and travel. This schedule allows athletes to stay fully engaged in their education without missing valuable competition time, all while benefiting from a supportive, college-prep learning environment.

Athletes in the Learn to Compete phase who travel frequently to the Southern Hemisphere during the summer months may find Picabo Street Academy’s flexible, personalized program a perfect fit. Its combination of online and in-person learning adapts to the demands of a competitive travel schedule while maintaining strong academics. For younger athletes in the Youth Development or Learn to Train phases of sport, the Park City School District, Weilenmann School of Discovery, Park City Day School, and Silver Summit Academy can work with families to arrange early release when needed, helping students stay on track in school while pursuing their passion for sport.
