Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined wrapped up a strong fall season after hitting the road in October for the final stretch of fall jumping. Comp Team athletes closed things out at the Ski Jumping & Nordic Combined National Championships in Lake Placid, competing against the top jumpers in the country. Leading the way for PCSS was 14-year-old Liam Demong, who earned a 9th-place finish in the HS100 Nordic Combined event, followed closely by teammate Luke Miller with an 11th-place finish in the HS128 Nordic Combined. The following weekend, the younger jumpers capped off October with a productive and fun training camp alongside athletes from the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club.

Looking ahead to winter, excitement is high among the staff leading the program this season. Recently retired two-time Olympian Casey Larson has stepped into the role of Head Comp Team Coach, bringing a deep well of experience and energy to the group. The Small Hills program is supported by a strong coaching lineup that includes Josh Hanson, a PCNSC alum who joined the staff this fall, along with PCSS alums Macey Olden and Stephen Schumann, Olympic champion Bill Demong, and Program Director Adam Loomis.

As snow coverage continues to develop, the team is preparing to get back on all hills up to the HS100 as soon as conditions allow. In the meantime, athletes are focused on dialing in equipment, refining technique, and building strength to be ready when jumping resumes. Anyone interested in learning more about Ski Jumping or Nordic Combined, or looking to give the sport a try, is encouraged to visit the PCSS website or reach out directly to Adam Loomis for more information.
