Freeride & Freeski Go from Foam to Snow

Preseason is officially in the books, and the Freeride and Freeski teams are ready to roll into winter. After a delayed start to on-snow training, athletes have made the most of every opportunity indoors at Woodward Park City, putting in quality work on trampolines and roller blades to sharpen air awareness, timing, and body control. “The focus this fall was building strong foundations and confidence,” says Freeride/Freeski Director Mike Campbell. “The athletes showed up motivated, and we saw real progression as they locked in new tricks and skills that will transfer directly to snow.”

Regularly scheduled training resumed earlier this month, and while the teams are now in a brief holiday pause from December 22 through 26 and again on January 1, athletes are encouraged to ski with friends and family and reconnect with what makes the sport fun. With competition season just around the corner, momentum is building fast. USASA events are filling quickly, and athletes planning to compete should review schedules and register soon. The excitement continues to build as PCSS Freeride prepares to host the Regional Freeride Championships later this season. “We’re in a great place heading into winter,” Campbell adds. “The prep is done, the stoke is high, and we’re ready for an incredible season.”
