Water Ramp Drop-Ins
Freestyle Summer • 10+ years

Program Details

Freestyle Water Ramp Drop-Ins give mogul athletes a flexible way to access world-class summer jumping at the Utah Olympic Park without committing to a full-time program. Athletes purchase punch cards in increments of 1, 3, 5, or 10 days and can drop into any available 1.5-hour water ramp session that fits their schedule, using the same training windows as the Regional Team’s summer program.

Most sessions also include trampoline time, creating a safe environment to refine takeoffs, air position, and landings while working toward higher degree-of-difficulty jumps. This option works well for athletes who want flexible access to coached water ramp sessions without enrolling in a full weekly program.

Full Time Program or Drop-Ins?
Freestyle Water Ramp Drop-Ins are best suited for:
  • Athletes currently competing at the regional mogul level or ready to transition into that environment.
  • Skiers who want extra jump reps beyond their full-time or part-time Regional Team schedule.
  • Athletes who can’t commit to a full weekly program but still want structured, coached water ramp training between early June and early October.
  • Visiting athletes who meet the minimum skill requirements.

Families should connect with Freestyle Director, Ryan DeVine, if they’re unsure whether drop-ins or a full/part-time Regional option is the better fit.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What skill level is required for Freestyle Water Ramp Drop-Ins?

Drop-Ins are designed for regional-level mogul athletes or skiers preparing to compete. Athletes should be confident on black terrain, comfortable on jumps, and ready for coached progression on the water ramps. If you’re unsure whether your athlete is ready, contact the Freestyle staff to discuss fit.
  • What equipment does my athlete need?

    Athletes should bring:
    • Mogul-appropriate skis and boots
    • Helmet (mandatory)
    • Swimsuit, towel, and warm clothes for after training
    • Water bottle and sunscreen

Most athletes use their own equipment. If you have questions about using or renting wetsuits or life jackets through UOP, please contact the Freestyle staff before your first session.
  • Is trampoline training included?

In most cases, yes. The 1.5-hour water ramp sessions also include trampoline time, which is used for warm-up, air-awareness drills, and skill refinement before going to the ramps.
