Utah Olympic Park Public Programs
Water Ramping • 7+ years

Program Details

Utah Olympic Park Public Programs provide a fun, accessible introduction to water ramping for kids and adults ages 7+. Athletes can choose from Introductory Clinics, Semi-Private Lessons, or Private Lessons, each blending trampoline time, orientation, and coached ramp jumping in the Spence Eccles Olympic Freestyle Pool.

Programs support all skill levels, from first-timers learning basic movements to returning participants progressing toward the Mini or Single ramp with coach approval. All necessary equipment—skis, boots, helmet, wetsuit, and life jacket—is provided (snowboarding is also permitted but with limited gear available). Sessions run throughout the summer, with flexible scheduling and small coach-to-athlete ratios to ensure a safe, supportive learning environment.

Choosing the Right Public Program
Utah Olympic Park offers several public water-ramp options, each designed for different needs and experience levels.

Introductory Clinics are the best starting point for ages 7+ and adults who want a fun, safe introduction to the pool, Rookie Ramp, and basic freestyle skills. Families seeking more individualized coaching can choose Semi-Private Lessons (4:1 ratio), which include trampoline time and progressions from the mini ramp to the single ramp with coach approval. Private Lessons provide one-on-one instruction or may include a small personal group of up to four, ideal for faster progression. For businesses and larger groups, Corporate Group Lessons offer unique team-building experiences with customized coaching and ramp access.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What skills are required to participate?

All UOP Public Programs welcome all skill levels, including complete beginners. No freestyle or jumping experience is needed. Coaches will introduce athletes to the Rookie Ramp first and will only progress them to the mini or single ramps if they can safely manage the in-run, takeoff, and landing. Safety determines progression, and not all participants will advance beyond the Rookie Ramp in their first session.
  • What should athletes bring?

Athletes should bring a swimsuit, towel, change of clothes, sunscreen, socks, and a full water bottle. Warm clothing for after the session is recommended on cooler days.
  • What equipment does PCSS provide?

PCSS provides all required water-ramp equipment, including skis, boots, helmet, wetsuit, and life jacket. Athletes are welcome to use their own gear if preferred. Snowboarders may participate, but snowboard gear is limited and availability is not guaranteed in all sizes.
  • Can lessons be rescheduled or refunded?

Lessons must be canceled at least 72 hours in advance to be eligible for rescheduling. Once a participant has entered the pool deck, refunds are not issued. If a session is canceled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances, PCSS will make every effort to reschedule, but make-ups are not guaranteed when scheduling conflicts arise.
  • Can clinics or lessons run outside published dates?

Yes — if you have 4+ participants for Introductory Clinics or 2+ for Semi-Private Lessons, sessions can be scheduled outside the standard date range. Contact Ryan DeVine.
  • Check-In & Daily Schedule: What happens at each session?

All UOP Public Program participants should arrive 15 minutes early to meet their coach and watch the required orientation video. Check-in takes place on the first-floor balcony of the Legacy Center, the wooden building overlooking the pool.
