Volunteer and Get a Free Race Entry!

We need volunteers on race days to make these events possible. If you or another family member over age 15 can volunteer from 7:00-10:00AM on a race day, you will get a free race entry! In addition, PCSS members will earn credit toward their work deposit for the hours volunteered. We need assistance for each race, and positions needed are course set-up and water stations, race check-in and start/finish line, and course guides.

For more information, please send an email with your name and phone number to events@parkcityss.org. We will contact you to confirm the volunteer slot(s) of interest, and also provide a discount you can use when registering for a race. Thank you for supporting Moose on the Loose!

Transportation

We strongly encourage all runners and spectators to get to the race by riding the free Park City Bus which frequents the Kimball Junction area.  Biking or walking to the event is also encouraged as is carpooling.

Safety

Safety is the first priority for the runners at Moose on the Loose. Racing takes place 100% on dirt and while running on trails, you can expect some ruts, roots, rocks, grass, shade, mud, and other challenges. We have tried to minimize these on our selection of Moose on the Loose courses but some should be expected.  A parent/guardian is welcome to run alongside their little moose during any race for no additional fee.

If for any reason, runners need assistance in making it back to the start/finish area, volunteers placed along the course will be able to radio to the finish area for help.

As runners line up for their respective start time, they will be “checked out.” Once a runner crosses the finish line and the bib tag is pulled, the runner will be “checked in” and will be accounted for. This will help to ensure all runners return safely back to the finish line.
