The PCSS Freestyle Moguls FIS Development Coach supports regional and entry-level FIS athletes while helping build the pipeline to the FIS Elite team. This role focuses on athlete communication, long-term development, and creating a smooth transition to higher-level competition. The coach will reinforce strong skiing fundamentals while progressively developing the technical and tactical skills athletes need to confidently advance and succeed at the elite level.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a clear, structured training curriculum for FIS and regional-level athletes, including technical, tactical, physical, and mental development components.
• Deliver coaching across dryland training, water ramp, on-snow sessions or camps, and competitions.
• Provide technical and tactical feedback through regular video review sessions.
• Support athlete recruitment and retention efforts.
• Assist in the organization of local, national, and international competitions at UOP and PCM.
• Assist with training venue preparation, including course building and maintenance.
• Assist with coordination of team travel for camps and competitions, including flights, ground transportation, and lodging.
• Support team culture through athlete engagement initiatives, including team bonding activities, social media, and apparel.
• Adhere to PCSS policies by understanding, upholding, and enforcing PCSS and USSS Codes of Conduct.
• Demonstrate equal commitment to athletic excellence and the character development of athletes.
• Support and promote the “one club” philosophy, fostering respect across all PCSS disciplines.
• Contribute to PCSS initiatives that advance diversity, equity, and inclusion within the freestyle program.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire athletes and coaches.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to plan, prioritize, delegate, and effectively manage workload.
• Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with a detail-oriented and goal-driven mindset.
• Level 100+ USSS Coach Certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification, or ability to obtain within 3 months.

Education & Experience

• Minimum of one year coaching experience on the FIS NorAm Tour, and three or more years of overall coaching experience.
• Freestyle Level 100 coach certification, or higher.
• Extensive knowledge of USSS and FIS competition structures, including rules and regulations, qualification criteria, and Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) models.
• Demonstrated experience managing and leading high-level teams and programs; strong background in Freestyle Moguls preferred.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and other commonly used digital tools and platforms.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work on snow for up to 8 hours per day on expert-level terrain.
• Ability to perform course preparation and work in extreme winter conditions.
• Willingness to work up to 7 days per week during peak competition periods.
