Park City Ski & Snowboard (PCSS) seeks a passionate and dedicated Cross Country Competition Team Assistant Coach. This position plays a vital role in developing competitive Nordic athletes while upholding PCSS's core values of Passion, Accountability, Respect, Team, and Integrity.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Program Development
• Support the head coach in implementing comprehensive training programs
• Attend 3-5 practice sessions per week with preparation time
• Assist in competition preparation and execution
• Contribute to team culture development and athlete progression
• Support PCSS-hosted events and fundraising initiatives

Technical & Administration
• Maintain current knowledge of local, national, and international Nordic regulations
• Assist with race-day waxing and equipment preparation
• Participate in staff meetings and development sessions
• Contribute to parent education initiatives
• Support end-of-season evaluation and awards process

Competition & Travel
• Travel to competitions and training camps
• Provide on-site athlete coaching and support
• Assist with competition site preparation
• Support team logistics and equipment management

• Demonstrate enthusiasm for youth development
• Show commitment to both athletic excellence and character development
• Display strong leadership and team-building capabilities
• Exhibit proactive problem-solving abilities
• Maintain high personal and professional standards

Education & Experience

• Demonstrated ability to work with youth athletes
• Excellence in written and verbal communication
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Extensive Nordic skiing knowledge
• Hold a current US Ski & Snowboard Level 100 coaches license
• Hold and maintain SafeSport compliance
• Possess First aid, CPR, and AED certifications
• Hold and maintain a valid driver's license
• Digital platform proficiency (Google Suite, Microsoft 365, Playmetrics)

Physical Requirements

• Ability and willingness to work outdoors in all temperatures and weather extremes.
• Assist at practice and competition sites, including the ability to lift heavy objects.
• Stamina to demonstrate and participate in training sessions
• Available for weekend work during competition season
• Ability to manage high-stress environments while maintaining positivity
