Park City Ski & Snowboard (PCSS) is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Ski Jumping & Nordic Combined Assistant Coach to support the development of athletes in our program. This role collaborates closely with the Ski Jumping & Nordic Combined Director to provide high-quality training and competition experiences. The coach will lead 4–7 weekly training sessions for athletes of various skill levels, covering both on-hill and gym sessions. This position offers the opportunity for full-time employment, with health benefits through the Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation (UOLF) for employees meeting the minimum required hours (30 per week).

Key Responsibilities

• Actively coach existing Ski Jumping (SJ) and Nordic Multi-Sport programs for PCSS during winter and summer.
• Develop, promote, and support Nordic Combined (NC) programs, fostering athlete progression.
• Actively recruit new athletes into Nordic Combined and Ski Jumping disciplines.
• Organize, promote, and run training camps in Park City and travel camps for prospective Nordic Combined athletes across North America.
• Be available to travel internationally and domestically with athletes for training and competitions.
• Design and implement structured training sessions focusing on technical skill development and physical conditioning.
• Collaborate with the Director to develop and execute training and competition camps.
• Provide consistent communication with athletes and families, including weekly email updates.
• Assist in facility maintenance, with a significant emphasis on hill preparation during the winter season.
• Guide athletes through goal setting and performance reviews throughout the year.
• Travel to regional and national competitions with the team, offering coaching support.
• Support the organization and execution of hosted events, including competitions and fundraisers.
• Work closely with the Director and coaching staff to ensure smooth club-wide operations.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of ski jumping and Nordic combined.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills to effectively mentor and inspire athletes.
• Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
• Detail-oriented and goal-driven approach to athlete development and program success.
• Capacity to represent PCSS positively within the Park City community and beyond.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Education & Experience

• Experience coaching competitive ski jumping or Nordic combined teams and programs.
• Certifications in First Aid, CPR, and AED.
• US Ski & Snowboard Level 100 coaching license and SafeSport compliance.
• Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and other relevant software.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Capable of lifting and carrying heavy equipment as needed.
• Self-motivated and independent, with strong organizational skills.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel for competitions.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
