At the core of our ski racing philosophy, the Devo Program introduces 9–10-year-old athletes to a full-time alpine competitive environment. Many athletes come from community programs or PCSS’s Shredders and Skillz ’n’ Drillz, with the goal of creating a fun, safe, and exciting atmosphere to build the fundamental skills needed for future success in alpine racing.

Entry is by coach recommendation only, with athletes assessed at Placement Day each April or December. Evaluations focus on stance, balance, edging, and rotary skills. Eligible athletes must be age 9 by December 31, though athletes turning 10 before December 31 may also be considered. Those not placed in Devo will receive recommendations for other PCSS youth development or local resort programs.

Skills Assessment

All 2016 athletes, along with NEW 2015 athletes to PCSS, must register for the skills assessment on December 6. Due to large group sizes, this will be the final year we hold assessments in December. Beginning with the 2026–27 season, skills assessments and placements will take place during the spring Ski Up.
